Bala's Lucian Ilie proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save Bala from getting a goal against them. After 16 minutes, Valer Cojan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bala and the F.C.Steaua Mogo players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 17 played minutes Bala got a freekick which was hit by Valer Cojan. Bala's Iurie Blejan was substituted for Bogdan Bourceanu. Valer Cojan hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. 20 minutes into the match, Bala's goalkeeper Lucian Ilie had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dragoş Ciungu. After having played for 21 minutes, Ionuț Opriș managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bala's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ionuț Opriș was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Iulian Ştiubei could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Lucian Ilie made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as F.C.Steaua Mogo's Moise Radovan slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Lucian Ilie. That made the score 1-0 after 28 minutes of play. Ionuț Opriș might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Iustinian Arapașu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ionuț Opriș ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 45th minute, Ionuț Opriș got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Moise Radovan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 57 minutes into the game, Iulian Ştiubei was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. F.C.Steaua Mogo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bala the free kick. After 57 played minutes F.C.Steaua Mogo got a freekick which was hit by Iulian Ştiubei. 59 minutes into the match, Ionuț Opriș had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Iustinian Arapașu. F.C.Steaua Mogo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ionuț Opriș was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Lucian Ilie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dragoş Ciungu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Mihai Vieru fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bala's protests and gave Mihai Vieru a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of F.C.Steaua Mogo booed when Bala was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mihai Vieru didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bala's Lucian Ilie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Moise Radovan in the 66th minute of play. A hard shot 68 in the game by Ionuț Opriș from a close distance when the talented Iustinian Arapașu managed to make a qualified save. F.C.Steaua Mogo's players were relieved. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ionuț Opriș got free with Iustinian Arapașu in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bala's Ionică Pușcașu managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Manuel Mitulescu in the 82 minute of the game. Ionică Pușcașu was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 84th minute. Bala's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. If Iurie Blejan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 98th minute, Iulian Ştiubei hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bala were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
