The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Emanuele De Simone showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Octavian Duca in the 3rd minute of the match. In the 4th minute Ion Tatomir shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emanuele De Simone saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emanuele De Simone took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rareș Moculescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hulesti's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Aron Măcrinici 9 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. In the 13th minute Ion Tatomir shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emanuele De Simone saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Francisc Călin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Emanuele De Simone tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 18 minutes into the match, CS Atletic Tonea's goal looked a bit too open when Octavian Duca came free, but Emanuele De Simone reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rareș Moculescu in the 23rd minute of play forced CS Atletic Tonea's goalkeeper Emanuele De Simone to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 24 minutes into the match, CS Atletic Tonea's Marcos Zumelzu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nae Chificeac narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some careless play in the CS Atletic Tonea defense, Rareș Moculescu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Emanuele De Simone. The CS Atletic Tonea fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Emanuele De Simone should have stopped the shot. 30 minutes into the game, Marcos Zumelzu recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Nae Chificeac. Marcos Zumelzu showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. After a rather tough play, Hulesti's Ion Tatomir got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Emanuele De Simone came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by Hulesti's Rareș Moculescu. But to his dismay, Rareș Moculescu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. After 46 played minutes Hulesti got a freekick which was hit by Rareș Moculescu. Marcos Zumelzu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nae Chificeac having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rareș Moculescu to make the kick off. CS Atletic Tonea's Emanuele De Simone proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save CS Atletic Tonea from getting a goal against them. Emanuele De Simone didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Hulesti's Rareș Moculescu shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 2-3 in the ordered_time% minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rareș Moculescu in the 56th minute of play forced CS Atletic Tonea's goalkeeper Emanuele De Simone to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcos Zumelzu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 60th minute, Rareș Moculescu made a precise shot to the right of Emanuele De Simone. CS Atletic Tonea's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-4. 62 minutes into the match, CS Atletic Tonea's goal looked a bit too open when Rareș Moculescu came free, but Emanuele De Simone reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 66 minutes into the match, CS Atletic Tonea's goalkeeper Emanuele De Simone had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Octavian Duca. In the 67th minute, Rareș Moculescu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hulesti fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-5. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Marcos Zumelzu managed to get in a good position for a shot. CS Atletic Tonea's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcos Zumelzu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nae Chificeac breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Aron Măcrinici sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Octavian Duca could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Emanuele De Simone made a huge save. Emanuele De Simone didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 91st minute, which inside left pole to 2-6. Marcos Zumelzu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nae Chificeac read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 97th minute of play. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see CS Atletic Tonea lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
