After 27 played minutes F.C.Baia Mare got a freekick which was hit by Alex Astafiei. Costică Beșleaga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pompiliu Purcaru, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. F.C.Baia Mare's Costică Beșleaga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pompiliu Purcaru in the 33rd minute of play. Pompiliu Purcaru received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Costică Beșleaga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Costică Beșleaga made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dorin Arosculesei in the 38th minute. Gigi Baldovin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cosmin Magheran having to interfere. 47 minutes into the match, F.C.Baia Mare's goal looked a bit too open when Pompiliu Purcaru came free, but Costică Beșleaga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gigi Baldovin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Pompiliu Purcaru's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Costică Beșleaga read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Victor Biriș during the 95th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of F.C.Baia Mare booed when FC BEBI was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Victor Biriș didn't get a good kick on the ball. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
