But to his dismay, Albert Banica quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Codruț Atanasiu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Maxim Vaştag tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 11th minute, Codruț Atanasiu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Codruț Atanasiu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maxim Vaştag having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Codruț Atanasiu kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Maxim Vaştag. That made the score 2-0 in the 21 minute of play. Iustinian Filipoiu charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Iustinian Filipoiu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Albert Banica sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Codruț Atanasiu struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Maxim Vaştag didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC CFR Cluj. If Cătălin Frântu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Izbicioara's Maxim Vaştag proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Izbicioara from getting a goal against them. In the 33rd minute Cătălin Frântu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eusebiu Nisipeanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Octav Cicortaș received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Eusebiu Nisipeanu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 39th match minute, FC CFR Cluj was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristi Oneț to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 61 minutes into the match, Izbicioara's goal looked a bit too open when Albert Banica came free, but Maxim Vaştag reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 65thth minute of the game Albert Banica who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Izbicioara's Maxim Vaştag was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Izbicioara's Ivan Ţugui shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 69th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Eusebiu Nisipeanu but with some difficulty. Cătălin Frântu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cătălin Frântu struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. The corner ended in Nicolae Șofran almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but FC CFR Cluj's Eusebiu Nisipeanu did a great save. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Codruț Atanasiu managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC CFR Cluj's supporters rose to their feet, but Codruț Atanasiu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Maxim Vaştag breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Albert Banica sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Codruț Atanasiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Maxim Vaştag showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Albert Banica in the 94th minute of the match.
