Spectators: 7500 (Terracing: 5626, Seating: 1725, VIP seats: 149) Eusebiu Rebengiuc made the kick off and thus started the match. Eusebiu Rebengiuc recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tarsa were furious when Silviu Horia was red carded, 9 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 9 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Tarsa! Pipis Paltakis walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. When Sumuleu's Pipis Paltakis in 12 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Damian Pătrășconiu guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Damian Pătrășconiu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eusebiu Rebengiuc's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mădălin Buteanu in the 24th minute of play forced Sumuleu's goalkeeper Marin Hârșu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tarsa's Damian Pătrășconiu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eusebiu Rebengiuc in the 25th minute of play. Pipis Paltakis came free with the goalkeeper in the 27th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Damian Pătrășconiu could save by the left post. Sumuleu's Marin Hârșu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cazimir Gurlui in the 32nd minute of play. Marin Hârșu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iurie Cubleșan in the 33rd minute of the match. After 35 minutes of play, Tarsa's Mădălin Buteanu made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marin Hârșu was left in no man's land by his defense there! Damian Pătrășconiu didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 44th minute, which inside left pole to 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Iurie Cubleșan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Sumuleu booed when Tarsa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iurie Cubleșan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Iurie Cubleșan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eusebiu Rebengiuc blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Damian Pătrășconiu having to make a save. Damian Pătrășconiu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eusebiu Rebengiuc, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 69th minute, Iurie Cubleșan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tarsa's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sumuleu the free kick. Cazimir Gurlui kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Eusebiu Rebengiuc received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Damian Pătrășconiu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eusebiu Rebengiuc struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Damian Pătrășconiu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sumuleu. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eusebiu Rebengiuc in the 89th minute of play forced Tarsa's goalkeeper Damian Pătrășconiu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Damian Pătrășconiu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eusebiu Rebengiuc, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. If Pipis Paltakis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
