Spectators: 6868 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1719, VIP seats: 149) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Iustinian Datcu kicked off to start the match. Dan Ştoia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Virgil Huidu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Santimbru FC booed when SSC Steaua was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dan Baran didn't get a good kick on the ball. Adrian Bocaneț made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iustinian Datcu in the 11th minute of play. When Santimbru FC's Iustinian Datcu in the 17th minute got a chance for a shot 17th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SSC Steaua's goalie prevented a goal. Dan Ştoia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mihail Tulbure in the 21st minute of play forced Santimbru FC's goalkeeper Virgil Huidu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. During the 24th minute of the match Dan Baran completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Dan Baran a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Dan Ştoia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Virgil Huidu having to interfere. Adrian Bocaneț was a little too slow when Iustinian Datcu got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 34th minute. The score was now 1-0. In the 37th match minute, Santimbru FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iordache Vintilă to maneuver through the defense. 38 minutes into the match, Santimbru FC's goal looked a bit too open when Flavius Unciuleanu came free, but Virgil Huidu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Dan Ştoia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 45th minute, Iustinian Datcu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iustinian Datcu in the 47th minute of play forced SSC Steaua's goalkeeper Adrian Bocaneț to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

51 minutes into the match, Cazimir Otopeanu notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of SSC Steaua's Adrian Bocaneț. Adrian Bocaneț was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dan Ştoia got free with Virgil Huidu in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dan Ştoia scored 2-1 in the 73rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Virgil Huidu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Dan Ştoia came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the SSC Steaua fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dan Ştoia couldn't finish the play. Narcis Chițu struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Virgil Huidu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SSC Steaua. Nistor Popete hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. 86 minutes into the game, Mugur Isăcescu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SSC Steaua's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Santimbru FC the free kick. Virgil Huidu came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by SSC Steaua's Dan Ştoia. But to his dismay, Dan Ştoia quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. In the 95th minute of the match Iordache Vintilă sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Adrian Bocaneț skillfully saved the ball. SSC Steaua were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Santimbru FC to leave the ground with a draw.
