Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) 7 minutes into the game, Steluta Juniors's Iacob Ortacu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Florin Cărtărescu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. The supporters of Steluta Juniors booed when Ursicse was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francisc Suşu didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 10 minutes, Iacob Florei mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ursicse and the Steluta Juniors players grew even worse after the yellow card. Florin Cărtărescu was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Fabian Hârciog. Florin Cărtărescu was a little too slow when Dumitru Gârneață got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 13th minute. The score was now 2-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Iacob Ortacu got free with Florin Cărtărescu in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teodor Huștea in the 30th minute of play forced Steluta Juniors's goalkeeper Nistor Spoială to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nistor Spoială showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aurel Chivulescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Dumitru Gârneață fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Florin Cărtărescu having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Steluta Juniors's zone, Aurel Chivulescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nistor Spoială came out of the goal and Aurel Chivulescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ursicse's Florin Cărtărescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dumitru Gârneață in the 39th minute of play. In the 47th match minute, Steluta Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iacob Ortacu to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Aurel Chivulescu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Dumitru Gârneață had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 56 played minutes Ursicse got a freekick which was hit by Francisc Suşu. When Dumitru Gârneață came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Steluta Juniors fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dumitru Gârneață couldn't finish the play. Dumitru Gârneață fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Florin Cărtărescu having to interfere. Nistor Spoială made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Aurel Chivulescu sent off a good shot on target. In the 68th minute, Francisc Suşu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Florin Cărtărescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iacob Ortacu in the 69th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Teodor Huștea kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Nistor Spoială. That made the score 3-1 in the 74 minute of play. Florin Cărtărescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dumitru Gârneață in the 84th minute of the match. Aurel Chivulescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 87th match minute, Steluta Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcu Voican to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot by Ioan Mercescu from long distance, 89 minutes into the match, got Nistor Spoială's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 89th minute, Iustin Neguțu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Aurel Chivulescu struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Nistor Spoială didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ursicse. Aurel Chivulescu's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Nistor Spoială firmly grabbed it by the left post. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Steluta Juniors fans cheered their team off the field, for while Ursicse had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
