Viorel Pâslaru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dumitru Gârneață in the 5th minute of play. Iacob Ortacu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Viorel Pâslaru tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dumitru Gârneață sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Iacob Ortacu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Viorel Pâslaru having to interfere. Dumitru Gârneață recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Octavian Muja kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. If Dumitru Gârneață had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 21 minutes into the game, Fabian Hârciog was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Steluta Juniors's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hurjena the free kick. In the 21st minute, one of Steluta Juniors:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Steluta Juniors. Nistor Spoială went to the wrong direction when Marian Griguță was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. After a rather tough play, Steluta Juniors's Robert Anisie got a free kick in the 29th minute. In the 30th minute of the match Marian Griguță sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nistor Spoială skillfully saved the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Steluta Juniors's zone, Romeo Moți stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nistor Spoială came out of the goal and Romeo Moți tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nistor Spoială took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Constantin Micu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Steluta Juniors's Nistor Spoială played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Constantin Micu in the 44th minute of play. In the 47th minute, Albert Gherase hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Constantin Micu made the kick off in the second half. Iacob Ortacu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Viorel Pâslaru made a huge save. In the 61st minute Dumitru Gârneață shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Viorel Pâslaru saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Steluta Juniors's Dorel Oravițan got a free kick in the 62nd minute. 68 minutes into the match, Hurjena's Constantin Micu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nistor Spoială narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Viorel Pâslaru made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Iacob Ortacu sent off a good shot on target. Iurie Minea's late challenge caught a Hurjena's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Constantin Micu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hurjena's supporters rose to their feet, but Constantin Micu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nistor Spoială breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 84th minute Constantin Micu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nistor Spoială saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 91st minute Hurjena were awarded a corner. Marian Griguță went to the cornerflag to take it. Steluta Juniors's Nistor Spoială played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Romeo Moți in the 97th minute of play.
