If Aurel Chivulescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Ursicse defense, Constantin Micu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Florin Cărtărescu. The Ursicse fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Florin Cărtărescu should have stopped the shot. Teodor Huștea received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Viorel Pâslaru came out and tried to block the shot, but Teodor Huștea slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 41st minute. Florin Cărtărescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Romeo Moți, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hurjena were awarded a corner in the 49th minute after Ursicse's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Marian Griguță took the corner. Hurjena's Marian Griguță was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Florin Cărtărescu in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Constantin Micu made the kick off in the second half. Romeo Moți sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Constantin Micu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in Ursicse's zone, Constantin Micu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Florin Cărtărescu came out of the goal and Constantin Micu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Aurel Chivulescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 68th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ursicse's goalkeeper Florin Cărtărescu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Constantin Micu struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Florin Cărtărescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hurjena. 74 minutes into the match, Hurjena's Constantin Micu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Florin Cărtărescu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Hurjena getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Octavian Muja hit a great ball. Through an outstanding action, after 79 minutes, Florin Cărtărescu successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Francisc Suşu during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Ursicse's Francisc Suşu got a free kick in the 84th minute. Florin Cărtărescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Constantin Micu in the 88th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Hurjena's Constantin Micu slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Florin Cărtărescu. That made the score 1-2 after 92 minutes of play. After having played for 96 minutes, Teodor Huștea managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ursicse's supporters crossed their fingers, but Teodor Huștea was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Hurjena supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Hurjena would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
