Nicodim Aalexoaiei made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Constantin Micu in the 19th minute of play. Romeo Moți fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicodim Aalexoaiei having to interfere. The supporters of Hurjena booed when Ametistul was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Horaţiu Spoială didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match clock showed 43 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Constantin Micu sped through Ametistul's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Nicodim Aalexoaiei. Hurjena's Romeo Moți got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Gigel Cornoiu made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Ametistul getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Horaţiu Spoială hit a great ball. In the 63rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Hurjena's goalkeeper Viorel Pâslaru, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
