Spectators: 7255 (Terracing: 5630, Seating: 1575, VIP seats: 50) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Mihail Tulbure got the match started through his kick off. Ametistul's Nicodim Aalexoaiei played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dan Ştoia in the 3rd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mihail Tulbure in the 5th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nicodim Aalexoaiei saved Ametistul from getting behind. In the 7th minute, Narcis Chițu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nicodim Aalexoaiei made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mihail Tulbure in the 10th minute of play. Dan Ştoia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Nicodim Aalexoaiei tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mihail Tulbure in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nicodim Aalexoaiei saved Ametistul from getting behind. 19 minutes into the match, Ametistul's goal looked a bit too open when Dan Ştoia came free, but Nicodim Aalexoaiei reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mihail Tulbure in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nicodim Aalexoaiei prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Mihail Tulbure had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dan Ştoia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 27th minute Mihail Tulbure shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicodim Aalexoaiei saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Dan Ştoia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dan Ştoia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicodim Aalexoaiei having to interfere. Ametistul's Gigel Cornoiu got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Gigel Cornoiu made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 55 minutes, Dan Ştoia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SSC Steaua's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dan Ştoia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nicodim Aalexoaiei made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dan Ştoia in the 58th minute. Gigel Cornoiu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adrian Bocaneț having to interfere. In the 61st minute Mihail Tulbure shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicodim Aalexoaiei saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 63 minutes into the match, Ametistul's goal looked a bit too open when Mihail Tulbure came free, but Nicodim Aalexoaiei reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mugur Isăcescu kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. 67 minutes into the game, Dan Baran was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SSC Steaua's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ametistul the free kick. Dan Baran hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Gigel Cornoiu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Adrian Bocaneț read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. After 73 minutes of play SSC Steaua's Dan Baran was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 74th minute of the match Robert Druga sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Adrian Bocaneț skillfully saved the ball. In the 81st minute Cazimir Ioanițiu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adrian Bocaneț saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Dan Ştoia came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the SSC Steaua fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dan Ştoia couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in SSC Steaua's zone, Gigel Cornoiu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adrian Bocaneț came out of the goal and Gigel Cornoiu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dan Ştoia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The SSC Steaua players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Ametistul from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
