In the 14th minute Florin Ababei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eugen Șeicaru saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Deville's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Matei Ivănescu 17 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. Eugen Șeicaru took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Florin Ababei, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Florin Ababei sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Eugen Șeicaru didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lucrețiu Popic went, in the 25th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Eliodor Curcă showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matei Ivănescu in the 29th minute of the match. Paul Băsescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eugen Șeicaru having to interfere. Eugen Șeicaru tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 58 played minutes Deville got a freekick which was hit by Florin Ababei. After having played for 64 minutes, Florin Ababei managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Florin Ababei in the 67th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eugen Șeicaru prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Paul Băsescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 76 minutes into the match, Deville's goal looked a bit too open when Matei Ivănescu came free, but Eliodor Curcă reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 78th minute Matei Ivănescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eliodor Curcă saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paul Băsescu in the 84th minute of play forced Mlecanesti's goalkeeper Eugen Șeicaru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 90th minute, Deville's Florin Ababei ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Eugen Șeicaru. Eugen Șeicaru yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2. In the 93rd match minute, Deville was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bogdan Lăcătușu to maneuver through the defense. Eliodor Curcă made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matei Ivănescu in the 94th minute of play. Deville were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
