Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Bisericani's Iordache Păunescu started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Iordache Rotariu might have been able to make a better finish in the 4th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eugen Șeicaru. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Iordache Rotariu ran back to his position shaking his head. Iordache Păunescu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eugen Șeicaru having to make a save. After 6 played minutes Bisericani got a freekick which was hit by Luca Gheorghiu. 7 minutes into the game, Cătălin Burileanu recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Narcis Ichimescu. Cătălin Burileanu showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Narcis Ichimescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andrei Buculeasa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristian Bărcăuan in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Narcis Ichimescu saved Bisericani from getting behind. In the 24th minute, Cătălin Burileanu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Mlecanesti booed when Bisericani was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dorel Neacșu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cătălin Burileanu struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Narcis Ichimescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mlecanesti. After 33 played minutes, Bisericani's Marcu Encea shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Eugen Șeicaru came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Bisericani reached it. 42 minutes into the game, Mădălin Iuonaș was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mlecanesti's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bisericani the free kick. Mădălin Iuonaș hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Bisericani defense, Cătălin Burileanu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Narcis Ichimescu. The Bisericani fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Narcis Ichimescu should have stopped the shot.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cristian Bărcăuan to make the kick off. When Cătălin Burileanu came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Mlecanesti fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cătălin Burileanu couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Bisericani's zone, Cătălin Burileanu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Narcis Ichimescu came out of the goal and Cătălin Burileanu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Dorel Ghiorman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dorel Ghiorman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dorel Ghiorman who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 68thth minute tested the skills of Eugen Șeicaru when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Cătălin Burileanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Narcis Ichimescu having to interfere. After 78 played minutes Mlecanesti got a freekick which was hit by Mădălin Iuonaș. In the 86th match minute, Bisericani was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Petru Amurăriței to maneuver through the defense. Eugen Șeicaru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iordache Păunescu in the 92nd minute of play. Eugen Șeicaru made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dorel Ghiorman in the 94th minute. In the 99th minute of the match Bisericani got a corner. Mlecanesti's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luca Gheorghiu ran over to the corner to take the kick. Luca Gheorghiu made a great header on Bisericani's corner, it was just that Mlecanesti's Eugen Șeicaru managed to reach the ball for a save. For all the effort they put into the match, the Bisericani players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Mlecanesti.
