Codrin Tastaman scored 0-1 in the 13th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Călin Groza, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Andrei Croitoru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ciocoveni AS's Andrei Croitoru got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Andrei Croitoru might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ferdinand Cârstoiu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Andrei Croitoru ran back to his position shaking his head. If Aurel Pop had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Ciochiuta's Nicu Codru got a free kick in the 27th minute. Sandu Jienescu was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 28th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. An unexpected shot in the 35th minute by Adrian Platon got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Ferdinand Cârstoiu made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Andrei Croitoru sent off a good shot on target. If Andrei Croitoru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 49th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When Ciocoveni AS's Andrei Croitoru in the 56th minute got a chance for a shot 56th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ciochiuta's goalie prevented a goal. Andrei Croitoru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 60th minute Andrei Croitoru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ferdinand Cârstoiu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ferdinand Cârstoiu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adrian Platon in the 63rd minute of play. In the 65th minute, Cătălin Balint ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Călin Groza was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. 72 minutes into the match, Adrian Platon notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Ciochiuta's Ferdinand Cârstoiu. Ferdinand Cârstoiu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
