In the 14th minute, Alin Pârlea ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Costică Diaconescu was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Dan Buzilă showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mircea Bărbătescu in the 18th minute of the match. Mircea Bărbătescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Dan Buzilă tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 26th match minute, FC FuLgErU was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dacian Chihaia to maneuver through the defense. 27 minutes into the match, Steaua FCSB's Valentin Mangra broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Dan Buzilă made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mircea Bărbătescu in the 29th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sergiu Pelin in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dan Buzilă saved FC FuLgErU from getting behind. Dan Buzilă showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mircea Bărbătescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. If Sergiu Pelin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Isac Damian charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Isac Damian the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Mircea Bărbătescu struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. The referee ignored FC FuLgErU's protests and gave Dacian Chihaia a yellow card for diving instead. Costică Diaconescu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Sergiu Pelin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Many of Steaua FCSB's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Steaua FCSB may have spent more time on the ball, but FC FuLgErU were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
