Spectators: 7488 (Terracing: 5617, Seating: 1722, VIP seats: 149) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. George Dumitru started the match with the kick off. Marcu Horea might have been able to make a better finish in the 10th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Narcis Bădila. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marcu Horea ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 17th minute, Ovidiu Micescu sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and AS PODARI's Narcis Bădila didn't even have to move. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Rareș Zbughină managed to get in a good position for a shot. AS PODARI's supporters rose to their feet, but Rareș Zbughină was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Albert Vrabie breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Sumugiu's Tudor Doicaru got a free kick in the 25th minute. George Dumitru struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Albert Vrabie didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AS PODARI. If Corneliu Andriescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 37 minutes into the match, Marcu Horea notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of AS PODARI's Narcis Bădila. Narcis Bădila was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 41st minute, George Dumitru ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Albert Vrabie was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Albert Vrabie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from George Dumitru, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Corneliu Andriescu to make the kick off. Corneliu Andriescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Narcis Bădila tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Sumugiu booed when AS PODARI was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. George Dumitru didn't get a good kick on the ball. Narcis Bădila showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Corneliu Andriescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Corneliu Andriescu in the 71st minute of play forced AS PODARI's goalkeeper Narcis Bădila to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Corneliu Andriescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 75 played minutes AS PODARI got a freekick which was hit by Radu Zafiu. Marcu Horea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 84th minute, George Dumitru got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sergiu Filimon during the 85th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 85 played minutes Sumugiu got a freekick which was hit by Sergiu Filimon. After 88 minutes Sumugiu's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Radu Zafiu who took care of the corner kick. Narcis Bădila stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Corneliu Andriescu's shot from short distance in the 94th minute.
