If Valer Mitescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sinleani's Traian Tărbac proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Sinleani from getting a goal against them. Traian Tărbac was out of position in the 15 minute of play, and Sandu Amărculesei capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Sandu Amărculesei really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Asceții FC's Ilie Lopatnicu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nae Maiorescu in the 19th minute of play. When Victor Plopeanu fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Asceții FC's protests and gave Victor Plopeanu a yellow card for diving instead. Victor Plopeanu hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Sinleani's Dragoş Cazimir tried to score from far away in the 29th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Adrian Costandin hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Sinleani's Gheorghe Nandriș got a free kick in the 33rd minute. When the match had gone on for 37 minutes, Sandu Amărculesei took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Traian Tărbac to make any attempt to save it. Valer Mitescu's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 41stth minute, Traian Tărbac skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Sinleani's Traian Tărbac played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sandu Amărculesei in the 42nd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Valer Mitescu got free with Traian Tărbac in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sandu Amărculesei was the one to do the kick off. If Sandu Amărculesei had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Valer Mitescu struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Traian Tărbac didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Asceții FC. Valer Mitescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Valer Mitescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Traian Tărbac tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 64 minutes into the match, Sinleani's Gheorghe Nandriș sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ilie Lopatnicu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Adrian Costandin hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Traian Tărbac showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valer Mitescu in the 67th minute of the match. Nae Maiorescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Ilie Lopatnicu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Martin Nicolae took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 83rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Traian Tărbac. Sinleani's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Traian Tărbac took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sandu Amărculesei, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Valer Mitescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sandu Amărculesei fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Traian Tărbac having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valer Mitescu in the 91st minute of play forced Sinleani's goalkeeper Traian Tărbac to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 96th minute Valer Mitescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Traian Tărbac saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Asceții FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
