Cotofene's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gică Grămescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ciprian Zăvoianu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andrei Tunar in the 11th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Andrei Bârsan during the 12th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to FC RMR getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Andrei Bârsan hit a great ball. 19 minutes into the game, Stelian Jdeica was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cotofene's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC RMR the free kick. After 19 played minutes Cotofene got a freekick which was hit by Stelian Jdeica. If Stelian Jdeica had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ovidiu Bran took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felix Rizescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Andrei Tunar's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ciprian Zăvoianu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. Stelian Jdeica received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Ovidiu Bran tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. FC RMR's Ovidiu Bran played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felix Rizescu in the 35th minute of play. Cotofene's Stelian Jdeica got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gică Grămescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Andrei Tunar blasted a shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ciprian Zăvoianu having to make a save. 49 minutes into the match, FC RMR's Andrei Tunar sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ciprian Zăvoianu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Andrei Tunar to make the kick off. FC RMR's Ovidiu Bran proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save FC RMR from getting a goal against them. Stelian Jdeicas short, quick shot in the 55thth minute got Ovidiu Bran to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 60th minute, Andrei Tunar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Andrei Bârsan kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Stelian Jdeica could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Ovidiu Bran made a huge save. Cotofene's Stelian Jdeica got his second yellow card of the match in the 71st minute. The referee ordered Stelian Jdeica off the ground. After a rather tough play, Cotofene's Stelian Jdeica got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Cezar Zdrăilă sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Felix Rizescu charged in rather forcefully in the 78th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Felix Rizescu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Felix Rizescu hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. A collision led to FC RMR getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Costel Mitruț hit a great ball. If Andrei Tunar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of FC RMR booed when Cotofene was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Rizescu didn't get a good kick on the ball.
