Ilie Lopatnicu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Gică Grămescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristian Enescu's late challenge caught a Asceții FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cristian Enescu helped the player get up and apologised. In the 9th match minute, Cotofene was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristian Enescu to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Asceții FC's Gheorghe Ştefănică got a free kick in the 12th minute. Stelian Jdeica could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Ilie Lopatnicu made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Gică Grămescu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cotofene's supporters rose to their feet, but Gică Grămescu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ilie Lopatnicu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Stelian Jdeica received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. After recieving a nice pass, Cotofene's Gică Răduța tried to score from far away in the 24th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Ciprian Zăvoianu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sandu Amărculesei, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 28th match minute, Cotofene was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teodor Ungur to maneuver through the defense. 30 minutes into the game, Felix Rizescu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cotofene's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Asceții FC the free kick. In the 30th match minute, Cotofene was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Rizescu to maneuver through the defense. Felix Rizescu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ilie Lopatnicu having to make a save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Valer Mitescu in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ciprian Zăvoianu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cotofene's Ciprian Zăvoianu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valer Mitescu in the 39th minute of play. Ilie Lopatnicu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gică Grămescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Gheorghe Ştefănică hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. In the 44th minute, Gică Grămescu fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Valer Mitescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

Victor Plopeanu got his second yellow card in the match during the 56th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After a rather tough play, Asceții FC's Victor Plopeanu got a free kick in the 56th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Asceții FC's zone, Gică Grămescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ilie Lopatnicu came out of the goal and Gică Grămescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 63rd minute Gică Grămescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ilie Lopatnicu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 66th minute, Cristian Enescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ciprian Zăvoianu came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by Asceții FC's Sandu Amărculesei. But to his dismay, Sandu Amărculesei quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 74 minutes into the game, Cotofene's Gică Grămescu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ilie Lopatnicu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After a defensive mix-up in Cotofene's zone, Valer Mitescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ciprian Zăvoianu came out of the goal and Valer Mitescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Stelian Jdeica had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 83 minutes into the match, Asceții FC's goal looked a bit too open when Stelian Jdeica came free, but Ilie Lopatnicu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Asceții FC's attack was well implemented in the 85th minute, but when Valer Mitescu was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. In the 88th minute Stelian Jdeica shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ilie Lopatnicu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Stelian Jdeica in the 95th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ilie Lopatnicu saved Asceții FC from getting behind. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
