The referee ignored ACS Unirea Curtești's protests and gave Costin Ozon a yellow card for diving instead. Costin Ozon hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Andrei Bucataru in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mircea Jecu saved ACS Unirea Curtești from getting behind. After having played for 34 minutes, Andrei Bucataru managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Defensivi Spiritus's supporters crossed their fingers, but Andrei Bucataru was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 35 minutes of play ACS Unirea Curtești's Costin Ozon was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. A collision led to ACS Unirea Curtești getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Costin Ozon hit a great ball. After 37 minutes of play, Defensivi Spiritus's Andrei Bucataru made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mircea Jecu was left in no man's land by his defense there! Andrei Bucataru received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Mircea Jecu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nae Curea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Andrei Bucataru to make the kick off. Andrei Bucataru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Toader Apăvăloaie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Toader Apăvăloaie in the 94th minute of play forced Defensivi Spiritus's goalkeeper Paul Hârlău to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
