After a defensive mix-up in Internationale BTV's zone, Virgil Irimia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Augustin Merișor came out of the goal and Virgil Irimia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Irinel Raicu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 15th minute, Irinel Raicu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Augustin Merișor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iacob Bunescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. In the 42nd minute of the match Stelian Vasiloiu sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Augustin Merișor skillfully saved the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Virgil Irimia in the 45th minute of play forced Internationale BTV's goalkeeper Augustin Merișor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Internationale BTV's Augustin Merișor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Virgil Irimia in the 85th minute of play.
