Spectators: 7492 (Terracing: 5620, Seating: 1723, VIP seats: 149) Mugurel Măgherușan made the kick off and thus started the match. Penfolds®'s Narcis Frunză played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iurie Urderean in the 4th minute of play. In the 8th minute, Nicu Păvăloae got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Penfolds®'s zone, Iurie Urderean stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Narcis Frunză came out of the goal and Iurie Urderean tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Iurie Urderean recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Narcis Frunză made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicu Păvăloae in the 20th minute of play. Iurie Urderean blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Narcis Frunză having to make a save. Iurie Urderean received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Narcis Frunză tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 27th match minute, FCU CRAIOVA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Narcis Mihădaș to maneuver through the defense. 29 minutes into the game, Robert Cucerzan threw the ball into play from the sideline. FCU CRAIOVA's Albert Enache quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Iurie Urderean blasted a shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Narcis Frunză having to make a save. Narcis Frunză showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iurie Urderean, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Iurie Urderean fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Narcis Frunză having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Narcis Mihădaș in the 43rd minute of play forced Penfolds®'s goalkeeper Narcis Frunză to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Narcis Frunză showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iurie Urderean in the 45th minute of the match. Victor Purje charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Victor Purje the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Penfolds® getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Victor Purje hit a great ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Iurie Urderean stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Nicu Păvăloae fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Narcis Frunză, passed just outside the right post. Ioan Chesaru took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mugurel Măgherușan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Narcis Mihădaș came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the FCU CRAIOVA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Narcis Mihădaș couldn't finish the play. Iurie Urderean sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Narcis Frunză took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iurie Urderean, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Penfolds® getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Victor Purje hit a great ball. In the 63rd minute Costin Balint shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ioan Chesaru saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Mugurel Măgherușan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Narcis Mihădaș kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. 67 minutes into the game, Robert Cucerzan threw the ball into play from the sideline. FCU CRAIOVA's Albert Enache quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Rareș Tănăsie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Narcis Frunză having to interfere. Iurie Urdereans short, quick shot in the 84thth minute got Narcis Frunză to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Ioan Chesaru showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mugurel Măgherușan, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. In the 87th minute, Gavril Nistor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 91 played minutes FCU CRAIOVA got a freekick which was hit by Narcis Mihădaș. The throw-in from Robert Cucerzan in the 93rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by FCU CRAIOVA's Iurie Urderean. Iurie Urderean received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Narcis Frunză came out and tried to block the shot, but Iurie Urderean slotted it home off the left post making it 0-1 in the 94th minute. The Penfolds® fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. FCU CRAIOVA were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
