Tiberiu Trandafir hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. In the 10th minute, Maldaeni CSS's Tudor Frunză seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Tudor Frunză the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Maldaeni CSS protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Tudor Frunză had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. A collision led to Maldaeni CSS getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Ştefan Frățilă hit a great ball. Paul Botgros kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. 17 minutes into the match, Eugen Lung sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Costel Gheție threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Eugen Lung this time. A collision led to Akademica getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Vlad Hațegan hit a great ball. Paul Botgros kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. When Akademica's Eric Banciu in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Maldaeni CSS's goalie prevented a goal. After 25 played minutes Maldaeni CSS got a freekick which was hit by Ştefan Frățilă. If Mihăiţă Moldovan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paul Botgros hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Mihnea Vlas kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Eric Banciu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cosmin Iulian having to interfere. In the 47th match minute, Maldaeni CSS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mihnea Vlas to maneuver through the defense. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Eric Banciu made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mihnea Vlas in the 52nd minute of play forced Akademica's goalkeeper Costel Gheție to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Akademica's Costel Gheție played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mihnea Vlas in the 55th minute of play. Mihnea Vlas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Costel Gheție having to interfere. Petre Finteșteanu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ştefan Frățilă hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Costel Gheție came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by Maldaeni CSS's Mihnea Vlas. But to his dismay, Mihnea Vlas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. 72 minutes into the game, Petre Finteșteanu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Maldaeni CSS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Akademica the free kick. The supporters of Akademica booed when Maldaeni CSS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Petre Finteșteanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eric Banciu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Cosmin Iulian tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Maldaeni CSS's Cosmin Iulian got control of the ball when Eric Banciu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Eric Banciu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cosmin Iulian having to interfere. 81 minutes into the match, Maldaeni CSS's goalkeeper Cosmin Iulian had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eric Banciu. If Tiberiu Trandafir had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Mihnea Vlas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 89 minutes into the game, Mihnea Vlas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Costel Gheție was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Akademica's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
