In the 7th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Leresti's goalkeeper Irinel Iordache, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. FC Leresti's Irinel Iordache played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ionuț Secară in the 9th minute of play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Liverpool Academy fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 12th minute. Penalty! Manole Vornicescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Ivan Tilincă tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Manole Vornicescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 21st minute of the match, Tudor Bujor got a very nice opportunity to score, but Ivan Tilincă was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 23 minutes into the match, Liverpool Academy's goalkeeper Ivan Tilincă had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Calistrat Mihalcea. After a rather tough play, Liverpool Academy's Iordache Ciprian got a free kick in the 25th minute. Tudor Bujor could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Ivan Tilincă made a huge save. Calistrat Ţirpe's late challenge caught a Liverpool Academy's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Calistrat Ţirpe helped the player get up and apologised. After 28 played minutes FC Leresti got a freekick which was hit by Calistrat Ţirpe. 30 minutes into the match, Radu Rogozanu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Irinel Iordache. FC Leresti's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Radu Rogozanu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 36th minute, Ernest Biriș hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 43 minutes into the game, Radu Rogozanu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Liverpool Academy's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Leresti the free kick. Radu Rogozanu kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Calistrat Ţirpe managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Leresti's supporters rose to their feet, but Calistrat Ţirpe was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ivan Tilincă breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Radu Rogozanu to make the kick off. Radu Rogozanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Irinel Iordache having to interfere. Nicu Negrilă hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Ivan Tilincă made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tudor Bujor in the 67th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in FC Leresti's zone, Radu Rogozanu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Irinel Iordache came out of the goal and Radu Rogozanu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ioan Leu's late challenge caught a FC Leresti's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ioan Leu helped the player get up and apologised. In the 79th match minute, Liverpool Academy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ioan Leu to maneuver through the defense. Ivan Tilincă stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tudor Bujor's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. Ivan Tilincă made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manole Vornicescu in the 82nd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Radu Rogozanu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Liverpool Academy's supporters rose to their feet, but Radu Rogozanu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
