Spectators: 7483 (Terracing: 5614, Seating: 1720, VIP seats: 149) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Isac Voitiş took the kick off in the first half of the match. Isac Voitiş fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Codruț Răduț having to interfere. Codruț Răduț made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teodor Spiridon in the 7th minute of play. Teodor Spiridon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Isac Voitiş scored 0-1 in the 13th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Codruț Răduț, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 17 minutes into the match, UNIVERSITATEA CRAIOVA's goal looked a bit too open when Isac Voitiş came free, but Codruț Răduț reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match clock showed 20 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Teodor Spiridon sped through UNIVERSITATEA CRAIOVA's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Codruț Răduț. Călin Braia hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. UNIVERSITATEA CRAIOVA's Marius Luican got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 38 minutes of play OTELUL GALATI's Călin Braia was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 39 played minutes OTELUL GALATI got a freekick which was hit by Călin Braia. The crowd rose to their feet as UNIVERSITATEA CRAIOVA's Vasile Rizea slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Augustin Hoancă. That made the score 1-2 after 40 minutes of play. A long shot from Robert Gherdan in the 47th minute of play was well struck, but Augustin Hoancă made a really good save at the right post. If Vasile Rizea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Marius Luican to strike the kick off in the second half. Teodor Spiridon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nechifor Necula in the 60th minute of play forced UNIVERSITATEA CRAIOVA's goalkeeper Codruț Răduț to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of UNIVERSITATEA CRAIOVA booed when OTELUL GALATI was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luca Andriescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. UNIVERSITATEA CRAIOVA's Robert Gherdan couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for OTELUL GALATI. If Vasile Rizea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Augustin Hoancă showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marius Luican in the 69th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Marius Luican managed to get in a good position for a shot. UNIVERSITATEA CRAIOVA's supporters rose to their feet, but Marius Luican was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Augustin Hoancă breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vasile Rizea in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Augustin Hoancă saved OTELUL GALATI from getting behind. OTELUL GALATI's Augustin Hoancă played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vasile Rizea in the 79th minute of play. Codruț Răduț made an important save on a dangerous shot by Teodor Spiridon in the 88th minute. After some careless play in the OTELUL GALATI defense, Marian Inculeț kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Augustin Hoancă. The OTELUL GALATI fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Augustin Hoancă should have stopped the shot. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
