After a defensive mix-up in UNIVERSITATEA CRAIOVA's zone, Augustin Costa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Codruț Răduț came out of the goal and Augustin Costa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dacian Chirilă showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marius Luican in the 8th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tudor Nandriș in the 9th minute of play forced UNIVERSITATEA CRAIOVA's goalkeeper Codruț Răduț to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 12 minutes into the game, Buhai's Tudor Nandriș nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Codruț Răduț made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 15 minutes into the game, Leontin Magherescu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. UNIVERSITATEA CRAIOVA's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Buhai the free kick. Leontin Magherescu kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Mihail Aalexoaiei hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. The supporters of Buhai booed when UNIVERSITATEA CRAIOVA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silviu Bivolaru didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eliodor Neaga took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 24th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Codruț Răduț. UNIVERSITATEA CRAIOVA's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 28 played minutes UNIVERSITATEA CRAIOVA got a freekick which was hit by Leontin Magherescu. Codruț Răduț made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tudor Nandriș in the 29th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Tudor Nandriș managed to get in a good position for a shot. Buhai's supporters rose to their feet, but Tudor Nandriș was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Codruț Răduț breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 32 minutes, Augustin Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Buhai's supporters crossed their fingers, but Augustin Costa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Marius Luican made a kick off. Eliodor Neaga hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Codruț Răduț showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Augustin Costa in the 55th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Buhai's zone, Vasile Rizea stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dacian Chirilă came out of the goal and Vasile Rizea tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Augustin Costa, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 63 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Codruț Răduț was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Marius Luican fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dacian Chirilă having to interfere. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 71st minute of the game. One of UNIVERSITATEA CRAIOVA:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Buhai:s goal. Tudor Nandriș's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Codruț Răduț firmly grabbed it by the left post. When Vasile Rizea came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the UNIVERSITATEA CRAIOVA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vasile Rizea couldn't finish the play. Augustin Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Augustin Costa received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Codruț Răduț came out and tried to block the shot, but Augustin Costa slotted it home off the left post making it 0-4 in the 88th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Calistrat Moșoiu during the 92nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Buhai's Calistrat Moșoiu got a free kick in the 92nd minute. When Augustin Costa came up free with the goalie in the 98th minute, the Buhai fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Augustin Costa couldn't finish the play.
