The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ion Dorian showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nae Cornoiu in the 3rd minute of the match. FC Baia Mare's Ion Dorian played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nae Cornoiu in the 5th minute of play. In the 7th minute, Sorin Rotariu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ion Dorian was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. If Filip Paraschivescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ion Dorian showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nae Cornoiu, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. In the 16thth minute of the game Albert Manciu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Baia Mare's Ion Dorian was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. FC Baia Mare's Filip Paraschivescu got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Marius Comănescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luca Encica, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Filip Paraschivescu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Marius Comănescu made a huge save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Remus Amurăriței during the 34th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Remus Amurăriței kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. In the 36th minute, Albert Manciu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Costel Lozovan hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Robert Drumeș took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 44th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ion Dorian. FC Baia Mare's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 45 minutes into the match, SEVERIN's Albert Manciu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ion Dorian narrowly saved just below the crossbar.

Ion Dorian took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nae Cornoiu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Costel Lozovan came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the FC Baia Mare fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Costel Lozovan couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Filip Paraschivescu in the 59th minute of play forced SEVERIN's goalkeeper Marius Comănescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 62nd minute, Nae Cornoiu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Albert Manciu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ion Dorian read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in FC Baia Mare's zone, Albert Manciu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ion Dorian came out of the goal and Albert Manciu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nae Cornoiu in the 67th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ion Dorian prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Albert Manciu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Ion Dorian made a huge save. Ion Dorian made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nae Cornoiu in the 73rd minute of play. In the 76th minute, Nae Cornoiu reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ion Dorian. The goal made the score 0-2. Albert Manciu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ion Dorian having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nae Cornoiu in the 87th minute of play forced FC Baia Mare's goalkeeper Ion Dorian to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. FC Baia Mare's Ion Dorian proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save FC Baia Mare from getting a goal against them. In the 95th minute, Filip Paraschivescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
