The audience thought a goal was coming when Afonsinho Mangueira got free with Nechifor Niculiță in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Marian Gavruță took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ştefan Zegreanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Galacticos's Nechifor Niculiță played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Akis Symeonatos in the 13th minute of play. Mihnea Gheorghe might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marian Gavruță. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mihnea Gheorghe ran back to his position shaking his head. A hard shot 23 in the game by Afonsinho Mangueira from a close distance when the talented Nechifor Niculiță managed to make a qualified save. Galacticos's players were relieved. If Mihnea Gheorghe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 28 minutes into the match, Alex Team MZ's Akis Symeonatos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nechifor Niculiță narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After the first half Galacticos were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mihnea Gheorghe to make the kick off. Marian Gavruță made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Călin Lungu in the 52nd minute of play. Marian Gavruță showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mihnea Gheorghe in the 57th minute of the match. After 58 played minutes Alex Team MZ got a freekick which was hit by Cezar Comișel. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ionică Micu during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Alex Team MZ's Marian Gavruță played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mihnea Gheorghe in the 81st minute of play. When Mihnea Gheorghe fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Galacticos's protests and gave Mihnea Gheorghe a yellow card for diving instead. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Galacticos walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
