After having played for 16 minutes, Felix Arsene managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Craiova's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felix Arsene was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 17 played minutes FC Bucovina got a freekick which was hit by Gelu Cobâlcescu. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Arsene in the 18th minute of play forced FC Bucovina's goalkeeper Petruț Păstrăv to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Petruț Păstrăv showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix Arsene, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Felix Arsene sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Craiova's Alex Latarețu shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 31st minute of play. The shot was stopped by Petruț Păstrăv but with some difficulty. Craiova:s Aristide Cioroianu showed great skill when he stopped Basarab Săndoi:s penalty. In the 42nd minute, Vali Balaeț hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alex Jugănaru's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aristide Cioroianu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in FC Bucovina's zone, Constantin Tobă stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Petruț Păstrăv came out of the goal and Constantin Tobă tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

FC Bucovina's Petruț Păstrăv played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Constantin Tobă in the 55th minute of play. Petruț Păstrăv took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Horea Boacă, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Craiova's Aristide Cioroianu got control of the ball when Aurelian Păuceanu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Aristide Cioroianu stood somewhat misplaced when Alex Jugănaru came free in front of goal and shot 1-1 to the left of him in the 61 minute. Aurelian Păuceanu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Aristide Cioroianu made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Moise Chificeac managed to get in a good position for a shot. Craiova's supporters rose to their feet, but Moise Chificeac was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Petruț Păstrăv breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vali Balaeț sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 82 minutes into the game, Moise Chificeac was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Craiova's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Bucovina the free kick. A collision led to Craiova getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Moise Chificeac hit a great ball. Craiova's Constantin Tobă got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 91 minutes into the match, Craiova's goalkeeper Aristide Cioroianu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aurelian Păuceanu. If Alex Jugănaru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alex Jugănaru might have been able to make a better finish in the 96th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aristide Cioroianu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alex Jugănaru ran back to his position shaking his head. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Craiova players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
