When Șerban Crișan fell near the penalty area in the 5th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Centurion Lions's protests and gave Șerban Crișan a yellow card for diving instead. In the 6th minute, Șerban Crișan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Irinel Zbârciog came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the FC Dreain Timisoara fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Irinel Zbârciog couldn't finish the play. Șerban Crișan hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. In the 16th minute of the match, Eusebiu Ghițulescu tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Victor Onișoru saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 18 minutes into the game, Irinel Zbârciog cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Costică Gavruță was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 23 minutes into the match, Centurion Lions's goal looked a bit too open when Irinel Zbârciog came free, but Costică Gavruță reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Leontin Liciu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Costică Gavruță having to interfere. If Irinel Zbârciog had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leontin Liciu struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Costică Gavruță didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Dreain Timisoara. Irinel Zbârciog received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Costică Gavruță tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Irinel Zbârciog's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Costică Gavruță was relentless in the 45th minute of the game. The Centurion Lions players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. FC Dreain Timisoara were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Irinel Zbârciog to make the kick off. Thanks to some nice moves Leontin Liciu could shoot a difficult shot in the 56th minute, which Costică Gavruță however easily saved by the left post. After 58 played minutes Centurion Lions got a freekick which was hit by Șerban Crișan. In the 61st minute, Leontin Liciu made a precise shot to the right of Costică Gavruță. Centurion Lions's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. After a rather tough play, FC Dreain Timisoara's Marian Tănăsescu got a free kick in the 66th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Leonard Pivniceru managed to get in a good position for a shot. Centurion Lions's supporters rose to their feet, but Leonard Pivniceru was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Victor Onișoru breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, Centurion Lions's Costică Gavruță got control of the ball when Irinel Zbârciog tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Leontin Liciu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 79 minutes of play Centurion Lions's Șerban Crișan was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 79 played minutes Centurion Lions got a freekick which was hit by Șerban Crișan. In the 86th minute Costică Bostan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victor Onișoru saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Leontin Liciu got free with Costică Gavruță in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Irinel Zbârciog got free in front of the goal in the 92nd minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Costică Gavruță was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Leontin Liciu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle sounded FC Dreain Timisoara left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Centurion Lions.
