Spectators: 7492 (Terracing: 5620, Seating: 1723, VIP seats: 149) Nittony Lions's Petruț Encescu started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 7 minutes into the game, Draghiceni's Manole Urdăreanu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Moise Costeiantu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. The audience was convinced that Manole Urdăreanu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Moise Costeiantu was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. Manole Urdăreanu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Andrei Tache took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 35th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Moise Costeiantu. Nittony Lions's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Nittony Lions's Moise Costeiantu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manole Urdăreanu in the 38th minute of play. Aristide Alucusan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Moise Costeiantu having to interfere. Nittony Lions's Moise Costeiantu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manole Urdăreanu in the 47th minute of play. The Nittony Lions players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Draghiceni were winning 0-1.

The wind increased when Manole Urdăreanu made the kick off in the second half. In the 61st match minute, Nittony Lions was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pavel Junilă to maneuver through the defense. 64 minutes had been played when some careless play by Nittony Lions's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Manole Urdăreanu was slow to take the kick. During this time Draghiceni's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Draghiceni's corner Manole Urdăreanu fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Moise Costeiantu quite easily take care of the ball. In the 65th minute, Pavel Junilă hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 67th play minutes Manole Urdăreanu shot 0-2, a short shot which went by Moise Costeiantu and just under the crossbar into goal. Robert Grecescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Manole Urdăreanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 74 minutes, Sandu Pavelescu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Draghiceni's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sandu Pavelescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Manole Urdăreanu in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Moise Costeiantu saved Nittony Lions from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Manole Urdăreanu in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Moise Costeiantu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Moise Costeiantu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gică Goiciu, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Draghiceni's Tudor Pârvulescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Filip Condeescu in the 84th minute of play. Andrei Tache charged in rather forcefully in the 88th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Andrei Tache the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 88th match minute, Draghiceni was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andrei Tache to maneuver through the defense. Draghiceni's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
