Augustin Zgârcu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dumitru Şimandan having to make a save. Emanuel Bărănescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Dumitru Şimandan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In a very dangerous position, a player in Rocket FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 19th minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Dumitru Şimandan, was totally fooled by Rafinăria Dărmănești's Nicolae Costandache, who 20 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. When Eugen Mareș came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Rocket FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eugen Mareș couldn't finish the play. Emanuel Bărănescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dan Macovescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eugen Mareș in the 37th minute of the match. Emanuel Bărănescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dumitru Şimandan having to interfere. In the 40th minute, Eugen Mareș got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 42nd minute, Emanuel Bărănescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 43 minutes into the match, Rocket FC's goalkeeper Dumitru Şimandan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Augustin Zgârcu.
