Felcheriul CF's Pompiliu Dominte played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Octavian Cantemir in the 24th minute of play. Pompiliu Dominte took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Petruț Encescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Petruț Encescu in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pompiliu Dominte saved Felcheriul CF from getting behind. 28 minutes into the match, Felcheriul CF's goal looked a bit too open when Petruț Encescu came free, but Pompiliu Dominte reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nittony Lions's Filip Condeescu pulled a muscle in his back after 29 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Mircea Bogdănescu fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Felcheriul CF's protests and gave Mircea Bogdănescu a yellow card for diving instead. The audience was convinced that Octavian Cantemir's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pompiliu Dominte was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. After the first half Nittony Lions were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mircea Bogdănescu was the one to do the kick off. In the 60th minute, Octavian Cantemir ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pompiliu Dominte was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. If Octavian Cantemir had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Nittony Lions booed when Felcheriul CF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ionuț Vâlcu didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 94 minutes, Ionuț Vâlcu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Felcheriul CF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ionuț Vâlcu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match was over Nittony Lions could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Felcheriul CF throughout the match.
