The supporters of LIverpool FC booed when SS Ionatan Timisoara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Traian Cangeopol didn't get a good kick on the ball. Daniel Jerca recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Leontin Urderean came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the SS Ionatan Timisoara fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leontin Urderean couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, LIverpool FC's Adam Surugiu got a free kick in the 37th minute. Iacob Macamete fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dinu Vasilache having to interfere. In the 44th minute, Leontin Urderean ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dinu Vasilache was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dorel Zbanţ to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, SS Ionatan Timisoara's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Daniel Jerca fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After taking down the ball on LIverpool FC's corner Ernest Molodețiu fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Radu Otopeanu quite easily take care of the ball.
