The Verbia CS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ion Cârstea should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Cyprus Hools's Codruț Isăcescu got a free kick in the 26th minute. The supporters of Verbia CS booed when Cyprus Hools was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iacob Coja didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cezar Frențiu didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 30th minute, which inside left pole to 2-1. Cyprus Hools's Cezar Frențiu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save Cyprus Hools from getting a goal against them. Vali Homeag struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Cezar Frențiu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Verbia CS. Aristide Aursulesei hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. David Manea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cezar Frențiu having to interfere. Cezar Frențiu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vali Homeag's shot from short distance in the 48th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vali Homeag to strike the kick off in the second half. Cezar Frențiu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of David Manea's shot from short distance in the 51st minute. If Mugurel Ciocâlteu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With 58 minutes on the clock, Aristide Aursulesei commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. David Manea recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 62nd minute, Mugurel Ciocâlteu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 63 played minutes, Verbia CS's David Manea shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Cezar Frențiu came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Verbia CS reached it. Cezar Frențiu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vali Homeag, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cezar Frențiu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Manea in the 72nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Manea in the 74th minute of play forced Cyprus Hools's goalkeeper Cezar Frențiu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Verbia CS walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
