After a defensive mix-up in REGIONAL FC's zone, Costin Şunda stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gică Pană came out of the goal and Costin Şunda tried to chip the ball over his head. The supporters of REGIONAL FC booed when Dragheasa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nistor Caciulescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Costin Şunda's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gică Pană read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. Gică Iulian showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ionuț Goicea, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Costin Şunda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gică Pană having to interfere. Gică Pană breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sandu Buznea's late challenge caught a Dragheasa's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sandu Buznea helped the player get up and apologised. Sandu Buznea hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
