Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Octav Nicolaescu started the match with the kick off. Lucian Octavian in the 8thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Paul Ciurea, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Eliodor Poplăcan hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Octav Nicolaescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Paul Ciurea made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lucian Octavian in the 24th minute. 27 minutes into the match, VfB Stuttgart's Ştefan Bălăiță sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marcu Suciu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Andrei Potopea hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Paul Ciurea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vali Buligan, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Marcu Suciu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Florin Jianu went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ştefan Bălăiță made a kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Florin Jianu got free with Marcu Suciu in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 55th minute Vali Buligan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paul Ciurea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcu Suciu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ştefan Bălăiță, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. The supporters of Temisoara booed when VfB Stuttgart was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Toader Arsenescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lucian Octavian recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Florin Jianu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Marcu Suciu made a huge save. In the 71st minute Vali Buligan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paul Ciurea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ştefan Bălăiță received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Marcu Suciu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tudor Stancu charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tudor Stancu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 76 played minutes Temisoara got a freekick which was hit by Tudor Stancu. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ştefan Bălăiță in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcu Suciu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 80th match minute, Temisoara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vali Buligan to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to VfB Stuttgart getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Andrei Potopea hit a great ball. 85 minutes into the match, VfB Stuttgart's goal looked a bit too open when Lucian Octavian came free, but Paul Ciurea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Temisoara's Octav Nicolaescu got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lucian Octavian fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paul Ciurea having to interfere. Octav Nicolaescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
