In the 4th minute, Florin Jianu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 8 minutes into the match, UFC ROMAN CLUB's Octav Doinaș sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Paul Ciurea narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Petre Dincă during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Codruț Semeghin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Florin Jianu in the 12th minute. In the 14th minute of the match Marcel Jurăscu sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Paul Ciurea skillfully saved the ball. After 16 played minutes UFC ROMAN CLUB got a freekick which was hit by Tiberiu Stolnicu. After recieving a nice pass, VfB Stuttgart's David Plopeanu tried to score from far away in the 17th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Lucian Ianculescu kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Paul Ciurea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Octav Doinaș in the 24th minute of play. Octav Doinaș blasted a shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Paul Ciurea having to make a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Răzvan Ghionescu managed to get in a good position for a shot. UFC ROMAN CLUB's supporters rose to their feet, but Răzvan Ghionescu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paul Ciurea breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 35th minute, Răzvan Ghionescu made a precise shot to the right of Paul Ciurea. VfB Stuttgart's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Răzvan Ghionescu kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. If Răzvan Ghionescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half UFC ROMAN CLUB were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Octav Doinaș was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Răzvan Ghionescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Codruț Semeghin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Florin Jianu in the 56th minute of the match. UFC ROMAN CLUB's Octav Doinaș got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, VfB Stuttgart's Paul Ciurea got control of the ball when Răzvan Ghionescu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Răzvan Ghionescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 65 minutes into the match, Octav Doinaș dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Paul Ciurea, 0-2. If Octav Doinaș had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ştefan Bălăiță sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Codruț Semeghin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ştefan Bălăiță, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 86 minutes, Răzvan Ghionescu put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Paul Ciurea. Paul Ciurea stood somewhat misplaced when Răzvan Ghionescu came free in front of goal and shot 0-4 to the left of him in the 94 minute. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. UFC ROMAN CLUB had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
