When Iordache Turcan came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Bolintin United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Iordache Turcan couldn't finish the play. 41 minutes into the game, Șerban Panciu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Steaua Berceni's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bolintin United the free kick. Șerban Panciu kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Șerban Ailenei managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Steaua Berceni's supporters rose to their feet, but Șerban Ailenei was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eduard Peter breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Viorel Zbârciog was the one to do the kick off. Șerban Ailenei could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Eduard Peter made a huge save. Bolintin United's Eduard Peter proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Bolintin United from getting a goal against them. Eduard Peter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Radu Tănase, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eduard Peter stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Radu Tănase's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. After a rather tough play, Bolintin United's Viorel Zbârciog got a free kick in the 61st minute. If Iordache Turcan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Bolintin United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eduard Peter should have stopped the shot. Radu Tănase recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the match was over FC Steaua Berceni could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Bolintin United throughout the match.
