Dinamo Bucuresti's Olimpiu Azamfirei got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 10th minute, Ciprian Miulescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 11 minutes, Olimpiu Azamfirei managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dinamo Bucuresti's supporters crossed their fingers, but Olimpiu Azamfirei was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Panait Balint showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valer Chivu in the 14th minute of the match. 17 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Dinamo Bucuresti's Corneliu Basarab fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. The supporters of Dinamo Bucuresti booed when Zeldis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Niculae Bălașa didn't get a good kick on the ball. 25 minutes into the match, Olimpiu Azamfirei had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Damian Codrea. Zeldis's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Olimpiu Azamfirei was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Petrică Pătrașcu in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Panait Balint saved Dinamo Bucuresti from getting behind. Fabian Fundătoreanu hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. In the 42nd minute Valer Chivu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Panait Balint saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Dinamo Bucuresti's Corneliu Basarab in the 46th minute got a chance for a shot 46th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Zeldis's goalie prevented a goal. In the 49th minute Corneliu Basarab shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Damian Codrea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Valer Chivu was the one to do the kick off. Damian Codrea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Corneliu Basarab, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. After 54 played minutes, Dinamo Bucuresti's Flavius Curteanu shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Damian Codrea came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Dinamo Bucuresti reached it. A collision led to Dinamo Bucuresti getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Flavius Curteanu hit a great ball. Panait Balint made an important save on a dangerous shot by Romeo Balțoi in the 57th minute. Petre Ciuvică hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Valer Chivu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Panait Balint having to interfere. Valer Chivu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Panait Balint tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Valer Chivu kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Panait Balint. That made the score 1-2 in the 63 minute of play. The supporters of Zeldis booed when Dinamo Bucuresti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabian Fundătoreanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Petrică Pătrașcu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 73rd minute, Liviu Aldescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience held their breath when Romeo Balțoi in the 75th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Panait Balint's left hand side. After a rather tough play, Zeldis's Emil Izvoranu got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Valer Chivu was extremely unlucky when he, in the 86th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Romeo Balțoi charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Romeo Balțoi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The Dinamo Bucuresti supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Zeldis's performance. The match ended with a win for Zeldis.
