Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 14th minute, Mihail Cuculeanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 18 minutes into the match, Calimanesti's goal looked a bit too open when Dumitru Buricea came free, but Emanuel Iacob reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 20th match minute, Calimanesti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mihai Balint to maneuver through the defense. If Iurie Sorin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Calimanesti's Emanuel Iacob got control of the ball when Valentin Rada tried to sneak it across the goal line. Viorel Moșneanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gigel Jurca in the 33rd minute of play. 35 minutes into the match, FC Dya Bucuresti's goal looked a bit too open when Gigel Jurca came free, but Viorel Moșneanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 37th minute of the game. One of FC Dya Bucuresti:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Calimanesti:s goal. After 44 played minutes Calimanesti got a freekick which was hit by Cristian Pătru. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Gigel Jurca made the kick off in the second half. Marian Mârzac hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Gigel Jurca struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Viorel Moșneanu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Calimanesti. In the 55th minute, Aron Vătăşel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 61 minutes, Dumitru Buricea managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Dya Bucuresti's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dumitru Buricea was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Iurie Sorin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dumitru Buricea in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Emanuel Iacob prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Iurie Sorin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Viorel Moșneanu having to interfere. Valentin Rada struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Emanuel Iacob didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Dya Bucuresti. The supporters of FC Dya Bucuresti booed when Calimanesti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gabriel Lăzărescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. 97 minutes into the match, Calimanesti's goal looked a bit too open when Dumitru Buricea came free, but Emanuel Iacob reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Calimanesti's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
