Narcis Oprița hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Filip Ciuvică showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eduard Cazimir in the 6th minute of the match. Grigore Voinescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filip Ciuvică having to interfere. 9 minutes into the match, Fc.Targu-Mures's goal looked a bit too open when Costică Raicu came free, but Filip Ciuvică reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Grigore Voinescu scored 0-1 in the 12th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Filip Ciuvică, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Fc.Targu-Mures getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Eduard Şerban hit a great ball. After 19 played minutes Dinamo Bucuresti got a freekick which was hit by Cornel Mareș. In the 21st minute, Victor Timaru sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Dinamo Bucuresti's Ferdinand Vornicu didn't even have to move. Ferdinand Vornicu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nae Ruşdea, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Filip Ciuvică took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Grigore Voinescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nae Ruşdea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Ferdinand Vornicu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eduard Cazimir fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filip Ciuvică having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Grigore Voinescu in the 48th minute of play forced Fc.Targu-Mures's goalkeeper Filip Ciuvică to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nae Ruşdea to make the kick off. Nae Ruşdea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ferdinand Vornicu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nae Ruşdea, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. 61 minutes into the match, Nae Ruşdea notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Dinamo Bucuresti's Ferdinand Vornicu. Ferdinand Vornicu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After having played for 66 minutes, Denis Armanca managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dinamo Bucuresti's supporters crossed their fingers, but Denis Armanca was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Grigore Voinescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Filip Ciuvică tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Denis Armanca recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Robert Doloman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 94 minutes into the match, Dinamo Bucuresti's goal looked a bit too open when Nae Ruşdea came free, but Ferdinand Vornicu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 95 played minutes Dinamo Bucuresti got a freekick which was hit by Eduard Cazimir. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Dinamo Bucuresti eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
