The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tudor Țâpu showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Vasile Moisescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 11 minutes into the match, Bata's goal looked a bit too open when Florin Schiau came free, but Tudor Țâpu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Bata's zone, Adam Ivan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tudor Țâpu came out of the goal and Adam Ivan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Răzvan Mihăileanu during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Alex Loghin was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 17th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. If Adam Ivan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 27 minutes had been played when some careless play by Moş Gerilă's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Alex Loghin was slow to take the kick. During this time Bata's players had a chance to rest. Tudor Țâpu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Florin Schiau in the 29th minute of the match. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind Bata's goalkeeper Tudor Țâpu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Vasile Moisescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Leontin Martinescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Vasile Moisescu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leontin Martinescu was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. Cazimir Albescu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Leontin Martinescu having to make a save. In the 42nd minute Vasile Moisescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leontin Martinescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Anton Huștea fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Moş Gerilă's protests and gave Anton Huștea a yellow card for diving instead. After 43 played minutes Moş Gerilă got a freekick which was hit by Anton Huștea.

Leontin Martinescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cazimir Albescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 57th minute Cazimir Albescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leontin Martinescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 58th minute, Bata's Cazimir Albescu dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-1. In the 62nd minute, Cazimir Albescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Vasile Moisescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leontin Martinescu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vasile Moisescu in the 74th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Florin Schiau in the 79th minute of play forced Bata's goalkeeper Tudor Țâpu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vasile Moisescu struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Leontin Martinescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bata. Vasile Moisescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leontin Martinescu having to interfere. Cazimir Albescu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Leontin Martinescu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. Bata's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
