Spectators: 7550 (Terracing: 5664, Seating: 1736, VIP seats: 150) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Cezar Ogășanu started the match with the kick off. After having played for 7 minutes, Iosif Elefteriu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ELCID METAL CT's supporters crossed their fingers, but Iosif Elefteriu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cezar Ogășanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 12 minutes into the match, ELCID METAL CT's Cezar Ogășanu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ştefan Goiceanu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Szatmar's Daniel Bălașa got a free kick in the 13th minute. Ilie Fundătoreanu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ştefan Goiceanu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. In the 16th minute of the match Ionuț Ionășescu shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ştefan Goiceanu showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Moise Fulga made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Ilie Manciulescu sent off a good shot on target. After 19 minutes, Gică Zburlea mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Szatmar and the ELCID METAL CT players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 19 played minutes Szatmar got a freekick which was hit by Gică Zburlea. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Cezar Ogășanu managed to get in a good position for a shot. ELCID METAL CT's supporters rose to their feet, but Cezar Ogășanu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ştefan Goiceanu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of ELCID METAL CT booed when Szatmar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliodor Dejeu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cezar Ogășanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Ştefan Goiceanu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Iosif Elefteriu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ştefan Goiceanu having to make a save. 37 minutes into the match, Szatmar's goal looked a bit too open when Cezar Ogășanu came free, but Ştefan Goiceanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eliodor Dejeu hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Ştefan Goiceanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cezar Ogășanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

In the 55th of the match, Cezar Ogășanu tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Ştefan Goiceanu got in the way and made a wonderful save. Iosif Elefteriu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ştefan Goiceanu having to interfere. Moise Fulga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcel Cămătaru in the 68th minute of play. Moise Fulga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcel Cămătaru, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Ilie Manciulescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 82nd minute of the match Ilie Fundătoreanu shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ştefan Goiceanu showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Cezar Ogășanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ştefan Goiceanu having to interfere.
