Cosmin Cojocaru showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ionuț Nicoliță, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Bogdan Angheluș fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cosmin Cojocaru having to interfere. In the 18th minute, Petru Buș got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the Bolintin United defense, Petru Buș kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cosmin Cojocaru. The Bolintin United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cosmin Cojocaru should have stopped the shot. After the first half Garliste were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sergiu Brad to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Mihail Tarcu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bogdan Angheluș's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cosmin Cojocaru read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play.
