Viorel Stroe came out of the goal and Dorin Ababei tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 21st minute, Sorin Pacuraru hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dorin Ababei sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Viorel Stroe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Dorin Ababei had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 45th minute Eusebiu Vâlceanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Viorel Stroe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eusebiu Vâlceanu in the 47th minute of play forced Lupeni FCM's goalkeeper Viorel Stroe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Manuel Spârlea to strike the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Lupeni FCM's Viorel Stroe got control of the ball when Eusebiu Vâlceanu tried to sneak it across the goal line. 54 minutes into the game, Eusebiu Vâlceanu recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Viorel Stroe. Eusebiu Vâlceanu showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Filip Cernea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manuel Spârlea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Iustinian Cruceru hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Dorin Ababei fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Viorel Stroe having to interfere. Matei Tănăsocă sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eusebiu Vâlceanus short, quick shot in the 67thth minute got Viorel Stroe to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Denis Eremia hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Dorin Ababei, 69 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Dorin Ababei received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Viorel Stroe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 73 minutes, Dorin Ababei took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Viorel Stroe to make any attempt to save it. Pavel Maiorescu charged in rather forcefully in the 78th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pavel Maiorescu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Brodina Kings were furious when Pavel Maiorescu was red carded, 80 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Pavel Maiorescu hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Filip Cernea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Constantin Corvin in the 82nd minute of the match. Viorel Stroe made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Eusebiu Vâlceanu sent off a good shot on target. Sorin Pacuraru fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Viorel Stroe having to interfere. In the 88th minute Dorin Ababei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Viorel Stroe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Lupeni FCM getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Constantin Corvin hit a great ball.
