The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Emilian Fărcașus short, quick shot in the 13thth minute got Damian Stănciulaş to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 14th minute, Hust SC's Iurie Bouleanu dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. In the 17th play minute Emilian Fărcașu came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Damian Stănciulaş. 2-0. 23 minutes into the game, Codrin Toacsen cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Paul Slătineanu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Iurie Bouleanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Damian Stănciulaş having to interfere. With a little luck, FC. ZALAU's Damian Stănciulaş got control of the ball when Emilian Fărcașu tried to sneak it across the goal line. FC. ZALAU's Damian Stănciulaş proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save FC. ZALAU from getting a goal against them. When Adrian Aelenei came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the FC. ZALAU fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adrian Aelenei couldn't finish the play. Emilian Fărcașu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Damian Stănciulaş having to interfere. Emilian Fărcașu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Damian Stănciulaş tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Petrică Necșulescu hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. FC. ZALAU's Damian Stănciulaş proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save FC. ZALAU from getting a goal against them. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Emilian Fărcașu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Emilian Fărcașu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hust SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Emilian Fărcașu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Damian Stănciulaş breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Emilian Fărcașu took the ball and in the 54 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Damian Stănciulaş. Damian Stănciulaş dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Adrian Aelenei got free with Paul Slătineanu in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Damian Stănciulaş took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emilian Fărcașu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Emilian Fărcașu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Damian Stănciulaş made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emilian Fărcașu in the 70th minute of play. 71 minutes into the match, FC. ZALAU's goal looked a bit too open when Emilian Fărcașu came free, but Damian Stănciulaş reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Emilian Fărcașu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emilian Fărcașu in the 75th minute of play forced FC. ZALAU's goalkeeper Damian Stănciulaş to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Damian Stănciulaş took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emilian Fărcașu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 77 minutes into the game, Petrică Necșulescu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC. ZALAU's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hust SC the free kick. After a rather tough play, FC. ZALAU's Petrică Necșulescu got a free kick in the 77th minute. Iurie Bouleanu struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Damian Stănciulaş didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hust SC. Hust SC's Oğuz Tuyuğ got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. FC. ZALAU's Damian Stănciulaş played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emilian Fărcașu in the 95th minute of play. There was no doubt that Hust SC were the better team. Hust SC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
