After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Gigi Marina managed to get in a good position for a shot. Diosti's supporters rose to their feet, but Gigi Marina was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eliodor Mitescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 23rd minute, Panait Becheanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 28 minutes into the match, Zont's goal looked a bit too open when Adrian Floruțiu came free, but Eliodor Mitescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dumitru Bitang made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vintilă Stroia in the 29th minute. Codruț Andronescu kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Zont's Eliodor Mitescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gigi Marina in the 35th minute of play. 37 minutes into the match, Adrian Floruțiu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eliodor Mitescu. Zont's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Adrian Floruțiu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. After a defensive mix-up in Zont's zone, Adrian Floruțiu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eliodor Mitescu came out of the goal and Adrian Floruțiu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Diosti's Petrică Oroian pulled a muscle in his leg after 43 minutes and couldn't finish the game. 43 minutes into the game, Codruț Andronescu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Zont's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Diosti the free kick. The supporters of Diosti booed when Zont was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Codruț Andronescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Panait Becheanu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eliodor Mitescu was relentless in the 46th minute of the game. Gigi Marina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eliodor Mitescu having to interfere.
With his leg Eliodor Mitescu managed to avoid a goal in the 54thth minute, when Diosti's Gigi Marina fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. A collision led to Zont getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Fabian Dan hit a great ball. In the 68th minute the ball was on its way in behind Zont's goalkeeper Eliodor Mitescu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Diosti's Adrian Floruțiu got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gigi Marina recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Adrian Floruțiu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind Zont's goalkeeper Eliodor Mitescu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Adrian Floruțiu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eliodor Mitescu having to make a save. Adrian Floruțius short, quick shot in the 82ndth minute got Eliodor Mitescu to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Maxim Minea charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Maxim Minea the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Maxim Minea kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Zont's Eliodor Mitescu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save Zont from getting a goal against them. Mihail Popoiu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Eliodor Mitescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gigi Marina struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Eliodor Mitescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Diosti. When Gigi Marina came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Diosti fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gigi Marina couldn't finish the play. Zont's Vasile Oprea got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Diosti's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
