Andrei Ipătescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ivan Dică in the 4th minute of play. Andrei Ipătescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ivan Dică, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Liviu Voiculescu's late challenge caught a Oltenasii's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Liviu Voiculescu helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, UFC Claudesti's Liviu Voiculescu got a free kick in the 8th minute. Andrei Ipătescu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ivan Dică went, in the 10th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. The supporters of Oltenasii booed when UFC Claudesti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iordache Otețea didn't get a good kick on the ball. Andrei Ipătescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ivan Dică, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Cazimir Gheară showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Octavian Scorţea in the 25th minute of the match. 26 minutes into the match, Iordache Otețea dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Cazimir Gheară, 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ivan Dică in the 30th minute of play forced UFC Claudesti's goalkeeper Andrei Ipătescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mihai Orădan in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Andrei Ipătescu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to UFC Claudesti getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Liviu Voiculescu hit a great ball. Ivan Dică received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Andrei Ipătescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ivan Dică to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Liviu Voiculescu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The UFC Claudesti fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. UFC Claudesti's defense didn't have a chance, in the 57th minute, when Olimpiu Praporgescu scored to the left of an out of position Andrei Ipătescu, making the score, 2-2. Ivan Dică recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ivan Dică got free with Andrei Ipătescu in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 64th minute, Gavril Drogoreanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Andrei Ipătescu made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Ivan Dică sent off a good shot on target. After 70 minutes, Gigel Teişanu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Oltenasii and the UFC Claudesti players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Oltenasii's Gigel Teişanu got a free kick in the 70th minute. After 71 played minutes UFC Claudesti got a freekick which was hit by Liviu Voiculescu. Mihai Orădan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. UFC Claudesti's Andrei Ipătescu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save UFC Claudesti from getting a goal against them. Cazimir Gheară showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tiberiu Iorgovan, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Oltenasii's Mihai Orădan got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 85 minutes had been played when some careless play by UFC Claudesti's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gică Teleagă was slow to take the kick. During this time Oltenasii's players had a chance to rest. A well done corner resulted in Ivan Dică drilling the ball in to score 2-3 behind UFC Claudesti's goalkeeper. When Ivan Dică came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Oltenasii fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ivan Dică couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tiberiu Iorgovan in the 95th minute of play forced Oltenasii's goalkeeper Cazimir Gheară to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The UFC Claudesti fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Oltenasii were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
