An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicodim Şantău in the 5th minute of play forced Davidestii's goalkeeper Mihail Mincă to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fabian Șeitan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Mihail Mincă tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Davidestii booed when FCSB CLUJ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicodim Şantău didn't get a good kick on the ball. Florin Petculescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 16 minutes, Horea Senin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FCSB CLUJ and the Davidestii players grew even worse after the yellow card. Calistrat Cârneci showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dragoş Stoicănescu in the 41st minute of the match. If Dragoş Stoicănescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nicodim Şantău made a kick off. Fabian Șeitan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 62nd match minute, Davidestii was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cornel Scorţea to maneuver through the defense. Calistrat Cârneci made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Dragoş Stoicănescu sent off a good shot on target. 68 minutes into the match, FCSB CLUJ's goal looked a bit too open when Florin Petculescu came free, but Calistrat Cârneci reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, FCSB CLUJ's Calistrat Cârneci got control of the ball when Dragoş Stoicănescu tried to sneak it across the goal line. The FCSB CLUJ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Calistrat Cârneci didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dragoş Stoicănescu went, in the 89th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score.
